Just thinking!
A Burning Land
Burning heat and wind
Silently etch the land
Drawing wrinkles, sketching skin
Man enters here
At his own peril
Sweat turns to dust
Boulders flung violently
Upon the burning sand
Shelter for the snakes and lizards
Hurtful in the middle
Soothing at the edge
Seashore a sparkling smile
Roads going nowhere
To the left right
Straight ahead
Dust, wind and sun
Cactus and Boojums
Soaring
The destiny of Baja
It’s smiling people
And Rain

Good thing you put a 2003 date on that, or I might have thunk that "Drawing wrinkles, sketching skin" could have been a reference to me! Oh wait! Was meeting me what made you remember it & post it?

No, my Lady
I am working on putting together a book of my poems for my family and friends and this one was about Baja so I posted it.
I noticed only a few 'sunshine' lines and they are becoming and show that you don't hide from having fun........Ooookay?
You could have said it was good or bad or sumpin'.

Don't wrinkles only go where smiles have been? That's what I've been told and that's what I'm sticking to when it comes to my own reflection.
It's good Bernie. Your poem reminded me of a part of Baja that is slowing becoming hard to find.

It was great!!! Sorry it took me soooo long to respond! I got water in the pool today....finally! So any guesses on where I was this afternoon
& evening? Been a fish out of water for more than a year & a half & I KNOW you understand priorities!
I'm sticking to what Paula said, too!

All of life is a smile and the sun catches it and etches it in our faces so that those who come after us realize the fun that we have had.

You are correct--I am smitten.........
With life and living it
With flirting and enjoying it
With learning and sharing new experiences with people who seem to look at life from a similar angle.
Yep! Guilty and totally smitten........with sharing, caring, and having as much fun as I can pack into my travel bags.
And not afraid to show it!
Thanks for noticing.

Ana
Thank you for your kind words....I do believe that you and Steve and I are looking at this little world from a very similar angle.
Thank you for sharing with me the difference between Anna and ANA. That was a most interesting discovery for me.
