Mail Forwarding
How do you handle your mail while living in Baja and are you satisfied with that arrangement?
Never be afraid to do what\'s right especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. Society\'s punishments are small
compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

We don't get any and are not satisfied with that arrangement.

I forward to a relative and then she sorts is out and puts the important stuff in a big package and then forwards it to one of our friends who are
coming down. It sort of works, but they tell us that the Mexican postal service is upgrading and will be up to US standards in the next 5 years.

I know that many xpats in St. Miguel and Queretaro use a Texas Remailer. Xpat uses a Texas address and once a week someone goes north and collects all
mail at the border and delivers it to a Mailbox Service like a Mailbox and More, or UPS Store type business. Don't know if this is offered in the
Baja. Much safer and more reliable than Mexican Postal Service.

In about two months, I will be using a combination of not one, not two but THREE mail services to get the little I will need in San Carlos.
One in my "official" state of residence, one in the border state above me and private service to bring it down to SC.
I'll report back.

Oh. Are they going to put glue on the stamps now or will the mailing public still have to use the glue-pot in the post office?

That's quite a mysterious statement, are you incognito?
And when you report back, are you going to disclose the undisclosed locations?

It IS mysterious, isnt it, Roberto.
I think I'd better rescind my offer of reporting back.

We have a mailforwarding po box in Nv. that on request sends it to our po box in Chula Vista Ca. That then gets picked up by people (including us)
from around here and put in a box in La Jolla. Works pretty good. It beats worring about it being lost or stolen and then it takes at least 2 weeks
to receive it, then we have to keep calling the office to see if someone will go check the po box to see if any came in!
