New bridge open

For all the north bound Blvd 2000 users, the detour and construction near the Otay border is over.

The bridge that has been under construction for so long is now open. Although only a half mile long (and very expensive) it takes almost 10-15 minutes off the driving time to the Otay border.

Instead of making the detour to the right, you now go straight ahead and up onto the bridge. You come down and off the new bridge at the intersection where McDonalds is. The next block you make a right and you're off to the border.
No more traffic or traffic lights and stop signs.

Wonderful news! Now if we can outrun the mafia on Blvd. 2000, we got it made! (just kidding... but I wanted to give a plug for Ferna's warnings about that route)

Thanks for the update, Loboron. We found that we can avoid that whole area by turning right at the old detour and then left at Bella Artes. you can pick up the SENTRI lane or the regular crossing from there.

May try the new bridge this weekend.

Ron, can you get to the SENTRI lane from the new flyover, or does it dump you into the regular crossing point?

The bridge terminates at the start of the regular crossing line

Good news for a bad area.

Daylight travel only for this hombre through there.
