Los Tucanes de Tijuana's "20 Aņero"

I had no idea Los Tucanes de Tijuana have been performing for 20 years! :bounce:

COACHELLA, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Top selling artists and musical
ambassadors, Los Tucanes De Tijuana have been bringing their incredible
norteno music style to sold-out crowds north and south of the border. Now,
riding the crest of their most recent top 20 hit, "20 Aniversario," Los
Tucanes De Tijuana is coming to Spotlight 29 Casino for a concert on Sunday,
June 29.

Los Tucanes De Tijuana was formed by vocalist/guitarist Mario Quintero
Lara, vocalist/accordionist Joel Higuera, drummer David Servin and bassist
Mario Moreno. Ever since, they have been charting hit after hit, including "El
Virus Del Amor," "El Sinverguenza," "Jugo A La Vida" and "El Amor Sonado."

Los Tucanes De Tijuana holds the all-time record for most numbers on the
Billboard/Soundscan Hot Latin Tracks chart on a single issue by a Regional
Mexican Act, with a total of six.

The band is an international sensation as well, and their hits "Mis Tres
Animales" and "La Chona" climbed to the top of the charts in Chile and Spain.
Three of their albums have been certified by RIAA as Platinum Records and
eight more as Gold Records. As of press time, "20 Aniversario" has spent 26
weeks on the Billboard charts, peaking at #12.

The band has headlined events drawing massive crowds from coast to coast,
including New York for a crowd of more than 125,000; Mexico City's Soccer
Azteca Stadium for more than 100,000 people; and an event in Chicago for more
than 26,000.

Are you going? I would! I've never seen Los Tucanes, but I'd love to.

We saw "Los Tigres del Norte" at the Chumash casino a couple of years ago, and LOVED it!

Have fun!

The Tucanes play "Narco Corridos" or "Drug Ballads", so the imagery can be reminiscent of 1980s Miami Vice films. The public enjoy hearing about these stories, and this has made singers like Chalino Sanchez into a legend (for inventing the genre).

I enjoy the music, but watching the videos are tough, because art has imitated life, and the good times in Baja have changed so much because of the drug trade. So, I also have mixed feelings about these drug ballads.

I have heard that they put on a very good show. I was told this by a friend who only went to see them because his wife wanted to go and he normally prefers other genre's. As it turned out he had a great time...

I already asked him in a U2U to please resize his picture.

But no response,

CaboRon

edit: my appologies, he hasn't read the U2U yet.
