I'm embarrassed to say the map I found shows this town just outside of Ignacio Zaragosa, which means I've been driving by it for 16 years. The pink
church looks familiar and I've seen a sign for "Maria Auxiliadora" but didn't realize that was the name of the town- I thought it was like a rotary
club roadside sign and it was announcing the "Maria Auxillary" duh...
Thank you Tehag.

Wishful Thinking
Wish that I know where it is located, wish that I have visited it, wish that I know its history.
Perhaps soon the wishes will be fulfilled.

Is it near Loreto, Tehag? I'd love to visit that church, very unusual!

History (from the 1962 Lower California Guidebook)
The colony of Maria Auxiliadora was established in 1942 (3.3 miles south of Santo Domingo) by the Sinarquistas, a miltant religious (Roman Catholic)
group allied with the Spanish Falange.
Some 400 destitute peasants from central Mexico were brought here, but only a few families remain.
Later other groups of colonists were brought over by the Government and a number of cooperative farming colonies have been formed, extending about 60
miles south along the Magdalena Plain.

You're welcome! I have always wondered if there was anything still there... and I have stared at that place on the map for years! It was interesting
in that there is no road to it shown in the book, and wondered if the town (what was left of it) requested Howard Gulick to not show a road to it to
maintain some sort of seclusion?
Thank you for the great contribution of showing an out of the way Baja site!

Maria Auxiliadora
Not very secluded these days; big sign on the main road from Insurgentes to San Juanico and paved right into town.
