Border wait times
The current border wait time can be found on the CBP website along with every crossing in the US. The bottom of the directions page at www.LaSalinaCantina.com has the California crossings in a little easier to read format.

I crossed at Otay this morning at about 9am. About 1-1.5 hours wait.
I tried San Ysidro but it was backed up all the way to the traffic signal already. No way!
I think I'll drive to Tecate next time.
I need a Sentri pass!

Dunno where that site and info has been hiding from me, but thanks for showing it.
Just the SoCal traffic map is terrific for us Central Valley guys that sometimes venture across the vast LA wastelands.

I've found the CBP website grossly underrepresents the wait times.

No, you don't need a Sentri. The Sentri lines are getting longer and longer................

lizard, you are so right.
last couple of trips sentri has been a nightmare.
wednesday, 20 sept at 9pm - 1 hour. i was shocked. thought the middle of the week at night would be a breeze. so next trip tried a sunday thinking
(not thinking well) there would be no commuters. sunday, 14sept 3pm - 1 hour. the regular lanes were moving faster than sentri. tough to be nice to
the border agent after that.
i have been tracking san ysidro, otay and tecate each day since 11july. just random times during the day when i am on the computer. in all of that
time, san ysidro sentri shows a 1 hour wait only once. that was on 16sept. i don't trust that website at all. all and all, otay sentri looks the best.
i wonder if i would be able to find it.

A friend of mine and I were both heading to the border to cross and bring back some things he had in storage up in Chula Vista. It was about 6:30PM
and we both have Sentri but I picked up on Radio Latina that the Sentri lane at San Ysidro had 250 cars, the left side had 60 and the right side had
only 30. I called him on his cell and told him but he insisted that he wanted to take the Sentri because it would still be faster. I took the right
side and crossed in about 45 minutes. I had time to get my mail, grab some take out and was sitting at the storage facility waiting for over 15
minutes before my friend finally showed up.
He was steamed but I tried to explain to him that Sentri is faster - most of the time but not always...
