Los Cabos Real Estate down 80%
This is the headline in this mornings Los Cabos Daily News:
"Los Cabos Tourist Real Estate activity drops by 80 percent. "
This pronoucement was made by Mario Gasden Carrasco, president of the Tourist Real Estate Committee in a meeting with Los Cabos mayor Rene Nunez.
Gasden went on to say that the ongoing battle between the taxi union and owners of private shuttles is not helping things either.
Stay tuned.

Sounds like a tax evasion statement to me.

Are we talking 80% decline in traffic and potential buyers (bet that % is way north of 80)
Or are we talking prices? (no such luck, I presume)
Then again, if the traffic ain't there, then the prices are irrelevant. IMHO.

If you lower the price enough .... the buyers will be at your doorstep...
It seems way too many bought for speculation and not for living in a home .... and they are the ones who cling to unreasonable expectations as
to appreciation ...
And everyone involved in the real estate business will tell you that people are buying and building .... because they have to believe that.
Just a thought,

Just my view: those who bought and are still buying buy for investment purposes -- everything is speculation. Those paying cash aren't too
concerned about appreciation and are, generally, in it for the long haul.
Not everyone in the ''biz'' is in denial. When is the best time to buy? Anytime -- when prices are high and when they're low. There is alot
of money in Cabo and while some people might be anxious to sell, there is a larger portion who aren't concerned about the RE market in Baja or the US.
In the 80s, with interest rates peaking at 21% and more condos and townhomes in foreclosure (in Denver) than there were on the market for sale, THAT
was the time to buy. Sellers were creative and buyer's still bought. If you bought at that time, you were retired in 10 years.

A moments thought for those who have gone before
winthy, oldhippy, gnukid, hoseA, among many others
They come and they go ... and the bolder they stand the harder they fall.
Perhaps I will have fewer posts deleted and edited. Or maybe more . Only the editing gods know for sure

We are here, just not wasting time with nonsensical foolery.
I wish I had the time to take you and others to task but some of us are busy with projects and life. As far as I am concerned everything is going
along just fine in BCS. The comments here do not bely the reality that we know.
