What I'm seeing here is La Paz and BajaSur in general entering the "Newport Beach" phase of developement.
That's where everything starts to get expensive for no reason. I mean, that's a nice boat and all but is that really necessary?
When I first moved to Newport many years back it seemed like a small funky beach town. Friendly and fun. But over the years it has lost that small town feel and the fun that goes with it. It's more about BMW's now than it is about bikinis and beach trunks.
The houses and rents have skyrocketed. The friendly beach oriented people are gone and stuck up a-holes have taken their place.
You wanna know something? You can make the beach more expensive but you can't make it any better. Just more expensive.

If I guessed right, they were the ones standing on the Malecon talking about going to the Jungle last evening.

Hilarious! Yes we saw this docked at the marina a few weeks ago... Along with that snazzy blue one as well, which was docked out at Balandra for a few days.....I think the Princess Cristina/Lady Cristina from a year before had it beat though! :P Excess at it's finest!
