Another Beautiful Small Church

Well, in its simplicity, I am sure it used to be beautiful

The inside is now just full of ghosts and bird poop---still one Madonna on the wall.

Tom checking out one of the abandoned buildings

He is such a curious dog---

I know where it is too! Here's a shot I took back in October 2007 - some of the front door was still there.... Bob H

my favorite SR church story is about the night Zoe (bajaboy'd mama) decided to spend Halloween out in San Roque(famous for being a haunted village). After a bottle of wine and around midnight we decided to brave going into the church...giggling, we gingerly stepped inside the door and got the sweet Beejesus scared out of us as tons of pidgeons suddenly swarmed us!!!! We let loose some blood curdling screams sure to raise the dead! We then thought we would scare the caretaker Chimbo and maybe even Zac & Juan who had gone to bed...by ringing the old church bell but the rope was gone so we tried to throw rocks at it...which in our tipsy state wasn't exactly successful. So we gave up and continued our walk through the haunted village. At the end of the road we saw a very weird apparition...a trailer up on the hill where there was no road....scary stuff...maybe the ghost car hauled it in!

Anyone else see the "other" Madonna/Jesus in the peeling paint just above and to the left of the Madonna on the poster....Spooky :saint:

Not yet, but guess I need to go back and take more pictures inside---close up of that wall, it must be there. I also want a close up of the Madonna on the wall. I really did not notice it until I looked at the picture.

It is easier to go inside right now as the pigeons are not nesting --I did try once when they were nesting and it was awful.

Baja99 it is San Roque a semi abandoned fishing fishing near Bahia Asuncion and a favorite spot of many people who visit here.

David, I think I figured it out... the front walls of this building stick out, thus covering the small window toward the front of the side will, where in your photo you are taking a more direct angle. In mine that front wall covers it up.
Whoosh, now I feel a lot better.

I've got one taken at dusk with the Santa-Anna winds blowing in some cool clouds

THen the next morning looking out from the inside

Doors still there, but barely...Oh, I got three windows in my image too:lol: The ghosts must have put it back in.
