Still no date for returning to Tijuana families who left the U.S. for insecurity: Ramos Hernandez

Author: Lucia Gomez

Tijuana .- Not a date to return to the municipality Tijuanense families who are in the exodus, living in the United States because of insecurity, the mayor acknowledged Jorge Ramos Hernandez.

"It is not yet the time for me to tell you calmly and surely, we will make an assessment at the close of the year," replied the mayor questioned about when he will be able to assure those families that security conditions in Tijuana are appropriate to return to live there.

The deadline given by the general Sergio Aponte Polito one year to Tijuana to stabilize the conditions of normality I think is right. It would make a serious assessment, he said.

"I do not have the foot ends of the earth", stressed and clarified that although progress has been made very significant security in the area of high-impact crimes, is aware that there are colonies with great insecurity, "the we could not arrive yet. "

Are you beginning to see what I mean? If the news that appears in the Mexican newspapers was readily available in English here, people would get a whole different view of what is going on.

But, alas and alack, some people have told me point blank to NOT translate any of that and post it here. You don't suppose those people have some kind of a vested interest in tourism in Mexico, do ya?

I'm not sure all our Nomads who look at Baja through rose-colored glasses can handle what those "quaint" Mexicans are really saying, but here are a few comments from the readers of that paper:

El perro wrote: Send your comments to [Mayor] Jorge Ramos as they won't know that the assassin called "the dog" is his nephew if they don't ask him.

Lupa wrote: If peace is to return kick the Culicanos out of Tijuana

Fulano,

Please stay within this group and keep translating whatever the Mexican press posts that is pertinent to our group. Without you,the group would have only me posting the Spanish stuff, but I would not have the time to translate as you have.

The guy that needs to go is El Faro who has promised to send me some photos of his fishing kayak and gear, but that was two months ago, and so far NOTHING to qoute sergeant Klink of Hogan's Heroes.
