Now need siding ideas

OK - I'm back to the Nomad well agian: need wall siding ideas other than stucco. This will be over typical 2X4 framed wall and will abut stucco in some areas. Funkier the better. One wall will face NE and be exposed to sun. Other 2 walls will get no sun. Located in BOLA so rain really not an issue.
Here's one idea.

Combinations of otherwise rather plain siding materials can work very well for "funkie".
Some colored metal siding placed vertically or horizontally next to some Hardie or other sheet siding or lap siding can look great.
Vary the materials, colors and maybe the direction of the patterns/textures.
With a vapor barrier, the sheet or metal siding can be installed without pre-sheathing.

T1-11 can work for some; kinda like my Mexican friends loved their new popcorn ceiling.
Any time you use an unprimed, open-grain siding like T1-11 make sure to get some Flood EB (Emulsibond) to add to your primer and paint. It was developed for T1-11 and will seal the grain to make the siding last much longer in any conditions.
