FMT limits
Have tried the search option several times and I know I have seen this discussed.
If you are entering on an FMT how many CDs or DVDs can you bring into Mexico.
Thanks,
CaboRon

Has it ever been enforced?

Some ridiculous number. Like 6 CDs and 5 DVDs. Not sure how many cassettes or 8-Tracks, though. I always bring my collection of 100s of
DVDs.
And I don't declare it.

Lee,
I don't know if it has been enforced .... however she is flying in and sometimes they actually inspect your bags at SJD ...
Don't want to get her in trouble.

Hey Ron
I found it on the same documents we discussed recently about customs importations in relation to Customs Rule 3.6.3.
20 CDs, tapes, DVDs are permitted.
http://www.aerointel.com/CustomsDocuments/mexico.pdf
Keep this in mind, a total of 20 individual items in the category CDs, tapes, DVDs etc... So when they try to grab your Credence Clearwater CD you
scream "No manches wey, hay permiso con Articulo tres punto seis punto tres, wey!"
Beyond that you would declare the total value and pay importation tax I think. So lets say each CD is worth .10. There is little chance of justifying
a problem importation duties.

Get yourself a 4 Gig iPod and leave the CD's at home. Actually, you don't even need that. Just download iTunes (it's free) and rip all your CD's to
iTunes. They just save your iTunes directories on a flash drive and take it to Baja with you.
