"rules" :Baja Rummy


Baja Rummy

“cards per hand – 2 hands per player
Jokers & deuces are wild
Need 2 natural {red} & 2 unnatural “Black” canastas to go out
#meld zero-2499= 60 points
2,500-4900=90 jokers are [wild] 50-
5000-7499= 120 Deuces [wikl] 20-
7500 plus = 150 Aces 20-
Kings -8’s 10-
7-4’s 5-
Going out [originally 200 pts] 500-
Natural red canasta [7-of a kind] no wild 500-
Un Natural black [7 of a kind 1or2 wild] 300-
Run [include 3’s] [ subt the neg. for the 3] 1000-1200
Canasta of deuces [7- two’s] 2000
Red 3’s [hearts / diamonds] -500-
Black 3’s [spades/clubs] -300-

Draw two cards from either or both decks piles= discard one
· must have natural pair to pick up from discard pile to begin.
· Must have at least a 3 of a kind & or pair % a wild card to meld % these cards
Must add up to 60 pt

· as the score rises, the amount needed to begin meld increases, see above.
· once you have melded you can pickup from discard pile with either a pair or a single card & wild card.
· Must play cards picked up from discard pile.
· Must play all cards from 1ST hand before 2ND hand.
· May continue to play 2ND hand if you played all cards from 1St hand and do not have to discard.
· If played all cards from 1ST hand & discard Final must wait until next turn to play 2nd hand.
· Can not pickup from discard to add to canasta.
· Cannot draw 7th card to make canasta from discard stack.
· Do not need discard to go out..
· Count total canasta points & and then total the cards that have been melded.

Any cards not played are deducted from your total score…
