Route to TJ toll road from US?
I remember seeing postings that indicated we now had to take different directions to get to the toll road. Is that still true, and can someone give
me (simple) instructions? It was stressful enough before making your way to the right hand exit from the overpass through the courteous(!) traffic.
We head down at the beginning of November.
Thanks!

We're crossing the border tomorrow (oct 4) and I have the map from Bajagringo. It's pretty old but we're hoping the situation is still the same since
construction should last through October. I can make a post when we get back with an update as of October 10.

If you can, cross early in the morning----less traffic so one does not feel as pushed to speed.
Stay in the middle lanes instead of moving to the right lane after you cross. There are signs---some written on the street. You will end up back on
the same road as always that leads to the toll road.
Just follow the signs and you should be fine. The first time we crossed after the detour was created, we were not expecting it and did not make the
correct turns---it was before the signs.
We do not know Tijuana, but just kept heading towad the beach and found the road to the toll road. Next time, the signs were there and we had no
problem.
Good Luck and have fun.
Oh, any estimates as to when the work will be completed?

Update!
The old route, far-right lane turnoff, has reopened. Don't know whether both options work but assume so.

We crossed on Thursday and I told my husband that there was a detour which he confirmed when he talked to the insurance agent right before we crossed.
It was amazing to see that almost right as we got to it, the "old" way opened up and off we went!! Too cool.
I hadn't been down to our house in Cantu since June 2007 and I was anxious as we crossed because of recent news reports of all the problems. Once we
got through the initial traffic at the border, the drive down the coast was as beautiful as ever. Just beautiful.
