Bigger yellowtail moving in..tuna more scarce now in Asuncion

This week has been awesome for fishing...calm weather, seas are flattening out a bit more and lots of bigger yellowtail within 3 miles of San Roque close to San Pablo.
The big tuna boats could be seen working at night all last week pretty close in but they have either got most of the tuna or moved with the fish.
Juan and Jim & Jan were really happy with their yellowtail....Jan caught the biggest one! Jim got a nice tuna we baked up for dinner and had pitaya margaritas for dessert! Today a client got a 30 lb yellowtail and a few big tuna too so everyone is fished out!!! tecate time!
Bajaguy and his amigos are looking forward to fishing tomorrow...they've been partying it up in San Roque and kayak fishing the last couple days.
Let the good times rollllll.....before Norbert spoils the party!

how does the HUGE swell that is coming affect the fishing? does the storm actually push more warm water (and hold the fish longer) in its direction/path or do the schools scatter in its path?

they had a really good day today...it was so calm and the water was so clear they could see the yellowtail chasing their lures. they came in early as they caught all the fish they could carry home. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
Usually the day after the storm or on a huge swell, the water is churned up so it's harder to see the lure...but a couple days after the fish are so darn hungry, the bite is better.

Juan just made an interesting comment about the swell..he claims if Norbert hugs the coast, the swell wont' be as big....hmmmm....I guess that's why Marie gave us a nice swell as it headed west and the swell built up....any way ya look at it, there will be waves here and probably pismo clams washed up....yummmy...so woodman should be happy.

the largest swells radiate in front of the storm in the direction it's traveling. as Norberto makes his curve towards the coast, at some point you will be staring down the barrel, so to speak.:o
