Those are some really good pictures. But, I still think they are revolting on the ground. I'd sure like to soar like they do.

Thanks for posting these ... Seeing vultures at the seaside - on the beach -have always amazed and reminded me about the connection between terrestrial amd marine ecosystems. The ecological connections are endless and they feed us in ways we cannot easily see ... :yes:

Most of the time when a group of vultures is gathered on the hwy ahead, if you slow down a little they will scatter before your vehicle gets to them.

But watch out for the slow ones- we recently discovered even a glancing blow to one of these big birds can leave a very big impression on the front of a cabover camper.

.. this bunch made us a little nervous as we came upon them on this frontage road. But a good blast from the airhorn got them up in time.
