Ley's for fried chicken.
There is also a decent birria place right across the street.

food

At the turn off for Puerto San Carlos, on the southeast corner, is a very good birriaria. If you like goat and hand-made tortillas, it's da kine.

Have tried many restaurants in Cd C on our 'provision' runs. Nowadays we always go to Playas de Novierros which is actually in Cd. Insurgentes on the left about 1/2 a mile before you make your left at the T to Cd. C. However, if we were going to stay in Cd. C for lunch we would go to (all on the main drag on the right side) Asadero Tribis or Las Brisas... these are sit down table service menus.. or La Paraiso for simple excellent carnitas tacos.
But ya cannot beat Leys for fried chicken to go....

I usually stop at the palapa restaurant at the south end of Insurgentes. Don't know the name but the food has been fine.
