Turkey para "Dia de pavo"
Hi all,
I'm thinking probably Wally-Mart or Cosco have turkeys available for puchase correct? Question is who has the best ones? Or does any other carniceria
have fresh unfrozen ones?
Even though I'm a Canuck we kinda missed out on our turkey day so we are planning on roasting it in our fireplace over a real wood fire! We had a
local welder make us a really nice grill that slips right in the fireplace. I plan on browning it all over on the grill then it goes in a pan to
finish.

We want to share this meal with our albiniles, pretty sure most have never had roast turkey!

I was surprised last Christmas that turkeys were available to many locals though a government program for free or cheap, not sure, but there were
plenty.

Smart & Final almost always has them. They are much more expensive here than stateside, but when you gotta have turkey...I suspect Walmart has
them because I even saw FRESH CRANBERRIES in their produce department the other day! That is a first!

Where do you get pumpkin or pumpkin pies. Used to get mine at marie calledars or costco.Almost as good as home made and less hassel as the oven was
always busy with turkey .ham and yams. Any luck here? Also use to get a great pumpkin cheese cake any suggestions. I hope you all have a great
thanksgiving day with all your family and friends,k

Keri, my Wife saw canned pumpkin pie filling at Wally-mart. We have visitors coming from "L'otro lado" so they will bring us 2 small pie pumpkins.
Of course pie NEEDS real whipped cream, that we have found (on occasion) in the big containers at Commercial Mexicana

I think it's called Dia de Gracias here....at christmas, the fishing coop here gives each member's family a nice turkey, a box of mashed potato
fixings and a bottle of Don Pedro...kind of a christmas bonus. The semi brings lobster north and comes back with turkeys....Funny thing is that they
dont know how to stuff a turkey here and I get lots of calls to come and help after our family and friends tried our stuffed gobbler.
Hope I can find cranberries in ensenada this weekend and canned pumpkin...thanks for reminding me.

Shari, call us when you're here. We are in San Diego right not but coming back Saturday. And I have a big bottle of the Sirracha chili sauce for
