Bancomer online banking bill pay
Has anybody had any success paying Telnor and CFE bills using Bancomer online banking (peso account)?
In both cases, I've been unable to find any "referencia" (utility account reference) that works. I've asked the companies involved and the bank and
none have been able to suggest anything that actually works.
I've tried the various things like adding extra zeros to the end of the phone number, etc., plenty of suggestions but I haven't yet found anybody with
real-word experience of this.
The help files on the Bancomer web site give instructions that result in reference numbers that won't validate (too short, too long). This may well
be out of date though, since it still refers to the old 8 digit phone numbers (as well as the "new" ones)!
So, is there anybody actually doing this?
I'm aware that I could ask the bank to pay the bills each month (direct debit) but given the unpredictable nature of the bills that's too risky,
doesn't give me a chance to go and correct it.

The only question I have (for anybody) is what reference to use, for CFE and for Telnor (e.g. phone number, numero de servicio, etc). In other words,
given a bill, where do I find numbers that work, and how many digits should they be. (those numbers by themselves do not).
The rest of it I can figure out fine, but I get "invalid reference" for one reason or another at the very final step (after the second password).
No rush, and thanks.

Thanks to Pam, I've manged to pay the Telnor bill online.
In summary (for other with this question in the future), in "Pago de Servicios", in the "Referencia" you enter your 10 digit phone number, plus
whatever single digit appears after "DV" on your phone bill (it's on the line with "RFC" in top left, and above and to the left of the bar code).
So the total Referencia is 11 digits, not 10 or 12 digits like the help file says - that's out of date (by many years probably).
I've been using the mobile version of the web site for this, I recommend it for slower links, so much more usable:
https://bbvanet.com.mx/mexiconetwap/mexiconetwap/pda_inicio....
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have the two fields needed for the CFE bill, so I'll try that on the full-size website, if/when it is working again
(currently unusably slow).
[edited later]
Got the CFE bill paid also later (on main site), thanks Pam. Take the 30 digit number above the barcode (without spaces) and enter the first 20
digits in referencia, remaining 10 digits in concepto. Be sure to round DOWN the payment amount to the nearest peso, didn't seem to work when
rounding up.
This can only be done on the full version of the site, not the mobile one (since that doesn't have a space for the concepto), but once it's in the
"frequent payments" list it should be possible to pay from the mobile site next time. (which is just as well, as the main site is really tough to get
onto at times).

as long as you have plenty of funds in that peso account you can pay any time 24 hours a day. so I would imagine there's a lot of traffic on the
bancomer site today, this being the last working day of the month (think payroll and impuestos). you can only transfer dollars to pesos during their
working hours monday thru friday.

I just took my TelNor and CFE bills in to the bank branch and they set them up on auto-pay for me. So long as I have enough pesos in the account it's
automatic. You don't get to scrutinize or dispute your bill first that way- but you never come home to a powerless house either.

the beef I have with TELMEX automatically coming out of the bank account is that they charge you for it a full 10-15 days before the bill is actually
due. Carlos Slim doesn't need 10-15 extra days with my money.

uh...they much have some sort of cut off date (fecha de corte) when they calculate the monthly bill. look at the top righthand corner of your bill
and that says "pagar antes de"... mine is the 25th or 26th of the month and my account has been deducted anywhere from the 9th through the 17th of
the month. if you like to pay Carlos Slim early that's up to you but he won't get it from me.

If I relied on paper bills I agree that would be the way to go (since they don't always turn up). But I can see both bills online, probably before
they are even printed and mailed, so I have plenty of time to do the online payment.
It's still at the early stages for this house, so odd things have happened to the bills and will still happen for a while. Once it's more settled and
predictable I may go to autopay, I have that in other countries.
