Beautiful indeed. I just noticed it a few minutes ago as I was coming in.

Dern and I stood on the driveway tonight here in Morro Bay taking it all in. I'm sure it was much more beautiful in Baja...

Ed,
Thanks for the tip for this event. We were up at Stovepipe Wells sunday when I snapped this picture. It was a beautiful night as usual in Death
Valley.

Thankyou for the great viewing tip ....
My favorite was Sunday evening when, for a while the three (including a faiery moon) were verticle and just an amazing sight ... Last night the moon
started to fill out and dominate the trinity .
So clear at times, it looked like it was sitting in the yard ....

We decided to have 2 patio parties the last couple days at the sunset casita so we could appreciate this event in it's full splendour...in the
dark...what was amazing was sunday night the moon was on the right side of the planets and then last night it was on the left side of
them...whoa...super cool and just the thing to add to the celebration of our dear amiga getting her dream lot....another dream realized and great
excuse for a party...today we head to san pablo for a lobster feast...another celestial event.

Stoolside sightings from Jungle
UNIQUE CELESTIAL EVENT
.
Every once in a while, something will appear in the night sky that will attract the attention of even those who normally don’t bother looking up. It
was like that on Monday, Dec 1, 2008 in Mulege at La Jungla cantina.
A slender crescent moon, just 15-percent illuminated, appeared in very close proximity to the two brightest planets in our sky, Venus and Jupiter.
People who are unaware and had no advance notice wondered, as they cast a casual glance toward the moon last night, what those two “large silvery
stars” could be?
Note: Sometimes, such an occasion brings with it a sudden spike of phone calls to local planetariums, weather offices and even police precincts. Not a
few of these calls excitedly inquire about “the UFOs” that are hovering in the vicinity of our natural satellite.
No other star or planet can come close to matching Venus in brilliance. During World War II, aircraft spotters sometimes mistook Venus for an enemy
airplane. There were even cases in which Venus drew antiaircraft fire.
A very close conjunction of the crescent moon and a bright star or planet can be an awe-inspiring naked-eye spectacle...plus.....Such favorable
circumstances are quite rare for any given location..
.
.
So be sure to make the most of this upcoming opportunity. This rare celestial event helps to provide astrological data in discovering the
secrets of the universe..
.

what a differance a day makes
The last few days here in so cal. have been great viewing. Tonight, not a star in the sky, nothing but cloud cover. You need to make the most of all
your opportunities.
