San Jose restaurant xmas day

La hija and su amiga will be staying at El Encanto on the 25th. Any suggestions for xmas dinner? They are on a "limited" budget but I was thinking perhaps the Tropicana?
Do you think they need reservations?

Remember, when in Mexico, yes may be no and no may be
maybe!

Restaurant Jazmin is much better and cheaper than the Tropicana. About 2 blocks from El Encanto.

I doubt that there will be many restaurants open but a quick walk through town will tell them who is open. Jazmin is a good choice and close...
They should be prepared for horrendous service as no one will want to be working.

I agree that it won't take but a few minutes to check out the restaurants downtown. For better or worse, I'd bet the Tropicana will be open since it's attached to a hotel.
