A picture all should see atleast once.


Yes I know its not Baja,I posted the pic under cardon but I thought all should have a chance to see it also.

7000 light years from earth a star nursery,so look and wonder " The Pillars of Creation" my favorite.

That is definetely Baja related. I saw the same thing using my binoculars one night in the San Pedro de Martir, I think.

Are those brown gases in that picture? I know nothing about astronomy. The big dipper is my limit. And even that is challenging for me on some nights.

This will explain far better than could,my son teaches this stuff,got him started real early.

Explanation: It has become one of the most famous images of modern times. This image, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope in 1995, shows evaporating gaseous globules (EGGs) emerging from pillars of molecular hydrogen gas and dust. The giant pillars are light years in length and are so dense that interior gas contracts gravitationally to form stars. At each pillars' end, the intense radiation of bright young stars causes low density material to boil away, leaving stellar nurseries of dense EGGs exposed. The Eagle Nebula, associated with the open star cluster M16, lies about 7000 light years away. The pillars of creation were imaged recently by the orbiting Chandra X-ray Observatory, and it was found that most EGGS are not strong emitters of X-rays.

After you look at pic,s like this it does something to your head and I,m worried about the economy:lol:

There is a nursery you can see with a good pair of 10/50 binoculars,in the middle of Orion,s belt,if you have real good eye-sight you can just make it out on a black Baja nite unaided.Rob

Hi to all, my name is Michael i live in San Diego,have looked for years but now have jumped in. To the best of my knowledge the photo is a fake. Not to make anybody mad but there is no color in the vacuum of space?,the picture if it was not cropped should be in black and white? food for thought . I look foward to your comments.
