new pics of casa Concepcion & guesthouse

Hi all,

things are starting to come together here (in spite of funds running low!) next week solar hot water and power go in as well as water (pipe system in nearby arroyo and a 5000 L holding tank). Saltillo floors start to go in monday too!

Heres how the house looked recently with the natural pigment lime wash.

Heres a pic of our guesthouse, with the lime plaster over the adobes, the original house was smaller so we added on, it has stood for over 50 years. Next week the roof goes on and the windows go in (double glazed)

Heres a pic of where the kitchen will be in the main house, the room behind will be laundry and utility room for the solar and in floor hydronic heating system.
We are looking at granite countertops for the kitchen.

And the really fun part was doing the talavera tiles in the main bath. The vidrioblocks for the shower were like 32 pesos at Expotile in Ensenada, don't buy them at Home Depot where they are double!!!

Ferna: LOL nope Chakotay "beamed down" to San Telmo, he had a better job offer..... still I would rather have Deanna Troy here anyway, Pamela won't go for that though..

Shari, yes a tub is a lujo for sure! But then we have lots of free water too.
Guess you just have to come up and visit!

We found lots of talavera at Cisco tile
http://www.ciscotile.com/

Although you can get some pieces cheaper at Expotile (also on Reforma)
The blue tiles in the pic were 5 pesos each

That bathroom is BEAUTIFUL.

What a great spot you have. I love the beach, but I also love the mountains and wide open spaces.

Hope the funds hold out so you can continue with your dream house.

Thanks for the tip about the glassblock resource.

Home and building supply resources and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Love the smooth texture of your interior pasta and those are neat light fixtures.
