President Felipe Calderon says he will not rest until Mexico is free of violence due to organized crime. President Calderon visited a solar panel plant in Tijuana Thursday.

President Felipe Calderon says he'll dedicate the time and resources it takes to rid the country of violence generated by organized crime.

The President pointed to Baja California as a model for the advances that can be made against drug cartels when local, state and federal forces work together.

In January, more than 70 people were killed in Tijuana. February's total dropped to half that. Though, earlier this week, a half dozen bodies were found scattered around the region.

While the President touched on violence, most of his speech focused on business.

He toured the expansion of San Diego based Kyocera's solar panel plant in Tijuana.

He says the low peso puts businesses in Mexico at an advantage. He says production is less expensive and prices more competitive.

Calderon called on the business sector to capitalize on the opportunity.

He won't rest?

Bad news is that he's gonna be up for years.

Good news is that there's plenty of crank and cocaine to help.

If he doesn't change the strategy so that the violence stops he'll get plenty of rest when the PRD wins the presidency in the next election.

... and we can all make believe this was only a six year nightmare and we can go back to sticking our heads in the sand. Too late. I think the only peace Calderon will see is RIP. IMHO, there's just too much narco money entrenched and influencing too many people at all levels of society. What income would take it's place once the narcos are gone- kidnappings and extortions?

These people won't go away if you take away the drugs- just like hundreds of Citibank vice presidents didn't go away when they ran out TARP money.
