? for Mulege Nomads
When we were in Mulege last month we couldn't help but notice the very nice fire truck with the CITY OF FRESNO on it. Anyone know how they got that
across the border? We are looking for a truck for local Volunteer Fire Dept and the question of how to get it across the border keeps coming up.

Put on the siren and go through the border at 90 miles per hour throwing dollar bills out the window.

The city of Mulege does not limit its imports to fire trucks.
We spotted this bus there awhile back:

As I remember, that fire truck was brought down by Buster Babbitt. He is a retired Fresno Fire Department Engineer who has been in Mulege at the Oasis
for many years That was the pumper he was assigned to in Fresno. I believe the suggestion to contact Jim Christopher is a good start for information.

The Mulege fire dept. as well as many other projects (schools, dental clinic, city water system, etc.) are supported and funded by the local Rotary
club, with major support from US Rotary clubs through grants wherein US clubs put up money and equipment for the projects. Jim Christopher is the
Mulege Rotary Club member who spearheads these projects and garners this support. The fire truck was donated by the Fresno Fire Dept. through Rotary
and imported to Mulege. The local fire chief is also a Rotarian, and has facilitated this support. The fire dept has been almost 100% equiped by US
Rotary clubs over the past 20 years.

yes, but the one we want to bring in does not meet the current "import" laws. I think it's like a 1975...does a fire engine get a pass on that ?
Remember that the current rule is 10 years, no mas no menos...

they do make special exceptions for fire engines and ambulances, you need to check with a good broker that is used to working with these things.
