Smart people know what to wear...

..as Einstein shows you. Wear your Hawaii Hilo-Hattie shirt, a lei, and take your ukelele. Chill out in paradise.

It's also VERY important on WHAT you drive to the concert.

Thank you all for your help with my attire. Here is how it turned out. I went on a shopping venture and found a relatively conservative Tommy Bahama (hope that wasn’t sacrilege) tropical shirt for $9.99 (Reg. $125.). I also found two enamel pink crustacean pins - a lobster and a crab to add to my very simple straw hat. So I put on my travel khakis, my shell necklace from Montreal, my pearl bracelet from Los Barriles, my parrot green fleece jacket from Costco and Keen no-laces boots (it’s still winter up here, eh?) and off I went to work. It was very nice not to have to wear a suit, although I do have a nice white jacket, and I am wondering why I would continue to wear suits after having drawn no comments about what I was wearing!.

It was a work event, and we are more conservative than Mr. Bill in this neck of the woods so low-key flamboyancy was temporarily allowed. There were leis at the door for everyone, chips and salsa stations, a big table with a party spread and JB music rocking the dining room of the old auxiliary nursing wing.

My job was to put the straws and umbrellas in the virgin margies produced in a giant double-auger slushy machine. You might think that the people would miss the t-kill-ya, but I was surprised at how delighted people were with humble refreshment and some light-hearted fun celebrating a retirement. In case you haven’t heard, Alberta’s health care system is under massive reform and we can use all the fun we can get right now!

Hope your day is a tropical wonder,
w
