PH of Fish Tacos ?

Nomads.
We have recently determined that beer is at the acidic range of the PH scale. Limes seem to help keep flies off the bottle/can; keep the mice from crawling into the bottle; and add some gringo flair to drinking downstream beers:lol::lol:

BUT....what keeps me up at night now is wondering what the PH level is with fish/shrimp tacos:o:o:o

I realize that the necessary squeeze of lime will instantly make any taco more acidic....but are there significant differences between the pH levels of different fish or shrimp?

What becomes important at this point with this scientific panel we have gathered around the computer is the notion that an acidic food may actually create an alkaline condition in ones body....vinegar (extremely acidic) is an example of such a food....shrimp,interestingly, will set up an acidic condition in the body....

So, folks....we have a dilemma on the table in front of us:O:O

An interesting notion to pursue...

Just when beer and fish tacos seemed to make life simpler;);););)

Drink Gatorade with the fish tacos and don't use a lime with the beer. There - you can sleep at night now.

ph is the measure of a liquid... so you must turn the fish taco into a shake, first!:light::O

Perhaps mercury levels are more important than PH levels:o:o:o

Hey. If chicken wings can become a major player in the fast food industry (bear in mind that because of all the demand for breast meat, wings are a throwaway item), fish tacos through a straw may just catch on.

Many years back, I had a buddy who was hospitalized with a severely broken jaw amongst other things. He had cravings for a cheeseburger but, of course, couldn't chew one, so the hospital liquified a cheeseburger and he was able to take it through an oversize straw. All of the normal ingredients were in there and it tasted like a cheeseburger which satisfied the cravings.
I guess you could do that with a fish taco as well.

Motoged,
I don't know the reason for your question but if PH level, acidity level (doubt it based on the quantity of lime juice I consume) or even mercury level has anything to do with repelling mosquitos I'll be reading this post with interest!!!!
Sorry for the hijack but mosquito season is rapidly approaching here in Tucson...............

PS: Oh, if eating fish tacos could repel mosquitos I'd know there really is a god! :tumble:

edited for PS :)

DM,
The reason for the question was simple: A previous thread determined the PH of beer....it was simple logic that led to the evaluation of the second most essential food item for any Nomad worthy of the sand in their socks....the almighty Fish Taco...

We have not yet had a mosquito repellent thread for a while, so someone might start that soon.

I doubt that smearing fish tacos, beer, or lime juice on one's epidermis is a suggested/recommended bug deterrent...although they might attract Nomads from the next table/palapa....
