East Calexico Border Crossing

Last Sunday (4/19) took 1-1/2 hours to get cross! Got to the border at 4:30 PM. Had to get back to work next day and normally we leave 1st thing in AM if leaving on Sunday. Decided to have breakfast with friends down at Cello's. The cars weren't even out to the road. It was business more than usual with the imigra! 5 to 2 minutes per inspection on an average. What the hell - should have sent everyone to secondary! That whole procedure really ought to be put thru a 6 Sigma process.

Dave - Shell Island was quiet. Just the fishermen at that one spot. Tides were flat. It was nice just taking a quiet ride down the beach. Weather was great.

We're typically Sunday crossers going home and that 1 1/2 hour wait has been the norm.

We dont leave early however, but enjoy a half day at our beach house then a two hour clean and close and then hit the road back to San Diego. I guess I've just gotten use to a long line...

Our last trip coming home was on a Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and it was still a 50 minutes.

Haven't had a bad trip yet....

Thanks for the report Chris!

Elizabeth and I would really like to get away for a couple days on the beach...

How hard is it finding this crossing? I considered it last March, but chickened out.
