And, I forgot, today is Chldren's Day, so there would have been no school today either.

Imagine if the USA had to shut down. No shopping no restaurants, no federal express, no going to your job because you are ordered to stay home. How to you shop for food, then how do you buy food and pay bills when you can't even go to work, no money coming in? OR your government completely shuts down? I really can't imagine the USA being able to even come close to taking these measures or even suggesting them.

Well we're all sittin' at home here and we're all discussing what's happening and more. This will make us stronger and we'll get through this. If any country can pull this off its Mexico. I think its time we as a country stop taking orders from everyone else and strengthen ourselves to become more independent. We have everything right here to do just that. I hope that after this passes our government takes a serious look at de-centralizing itself and perhaps giving states more rights to govern themselves.

You make a good point, FFP. Any glitch in the "system" in the USA often causes a reaction ranging from bewilderment to upheaval. An electrical outage is a crisis, if dial tone is lost at the same time, is becomes catastrophic. My observation is that Mexicans take things more in stride.
Maybe a little "ni modo" helps maintain rationality.

well I decided to do spring cleaing all day yesterday and as you can imagine we found lots of dusty stuff to clean off. sowhen I went into town for errands and a lovely back, neck and shoulder massage (AHHH), I sneezed in the grocery store. i felt guilty and caught myself lookng around even though I am not sick. I am glad that Loretanos aren't paranoid about all this as who knows I could have been pulled away for some kind of examination to make sure I don['t have the flu. I am told that in the airport they're using a finger scanner to take people's temperatures looking for feverish flu symptoms. this whole thing is freaking weird it stinks so I'll be avoiding the "news" for awhile as for whatever happens is really out of my control anyway

It's rumored that sneezing might be added to the characteristics in Homeland Security's "might be a terrorist" list. Rumor.
