No Tourists/Better Fishing

Not many people coming down south to fish even before the Flu hype. Less competition means more fish for a few of us. This was a small part of the action at Bahia de los Suenos on Monday. Now, if word about Dorado flu should get around.....

Hi, it's due east of La Paz. AKA "Bahia de los Muertos" -- since they are gonna build a huge development there they changed the name to Bay of Dreams. A seamount in 88 fathoms of water east of Cerallvo island holds a lot of fish as it is surrounded by depths of over 3000 meters. We saw 50 or more sailfish, had a triple hookup on sail, brought one to the boat and released it in very lively condition. I can get there in a couple of hours in my panga but to avoid rough seas, the iffy part of safe/free anchorage, I just drive up, charter a panga, drive home the same day.

Awesome! Fished there last year in May. Caught some Dorado and a nice Rooster. Roosters are fantastic fighters and all on the surface so you can see them the whole time.
It was windy.

Great looking dorado. But isn't due East of La Paz, like in the middle of Sea of Cortez?

I was there a while back, how can they change an age old name of a bay, with money? I told an Italian tourist, (that had spent a night at the $600 a night hotel) the real name of the bay.
