LA PAZ FISHING
Since May 11-16 we have fished five days the outside and south part of Cerravlo Island four times. We have fished off our own boat targeting dorado or
other fish interested! Each day we covered at least fifty to eighty miles of blue water. Shark bouys were everywhere as usual south of Cerravlo.
Longlines out to the east. Water was 76-80 and the color of the water was perfect. The weather balmy with a light afternoon breeze.
I have not experinced such bad Cortez fishing in 25 years that I have been coming here. There were a few sailfish jumping and skipjack/bonita that bit
some feathers and rapalas. We basically got skunked 5/5 days. It was like the fish were just gone. Holy #!@% it can't be this bad.I have to confess we
caught/released one dorado, but it was as small as a trout! We got to know each other a little better on the boat though!

All and all it was a great trip. I really enjoyed spending time with you guys. Maybe if you hadn't put the beginner (me) on the biggest fish (the one
that got away)  , your fishing report may have been just a little better. Funny
thing is that I heard today that the dorado are right here in Mulege.
What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Great news Lauri....now we have a reason to return!!!!! I thought the fish might be there. Glad you made it back ok! It was great to be with you both.

yes the dorado have arrived in mulege and so have the seiners. was out two days ago lots of fish caught also counted 8 seiners working. lots of dead
fish and crap in the water, and yes i mean crap.

Yea, the seiners follow the fish, that's how they make their living. Won't take
'em long, they'll be moving on.

Marv & others... please take photos and share here or send them to Pam in Loreto. She will put together an album and at some opportune time
present it to the people that may be helpful with regulations in our area. I realize this is wishful thinking but with a history and photos there will
be a time for change. Hopefully for all concerned, soon rather than Later.
I have been shooting with my long lenses the seiners and pongeros but the pics aren't very good from 8+ miles away. I am also filing any pics I
receive from Santa Rosalia to South of Mulege.
