Best Weather Station to Buy
Hello There,
I am interested in buying a weather station and would like to know your thoughts on the best one, I have one of those simple cheap ones that just
show the internal and external temps, would like one that shows a bit more stuff...

I've been through three cable free Oregon Scientific systems. The solar panels and sensors just don't hold up to salt/marine conditions. I replaced
sensors for a while under warranty but now only the windspeed indicator works. I'm tired of climbing on the roof to tinker with it and it rarely
rains enough to measure anyway.

I've had La Crosse & Oregon Scientific Both died prematurely. The Davis I have now is 3yrs old and had an outside temp/humidity prob problem that
Davis replaced fast. You get what you pay for... sometimes. The people at Davis seem to like helping.

The eham.net reviews give very high marks to the Davis systems and substantially lower marks for most all of the Oregon Scientific and LaCrosse
Technology units. Those three probably have over 90% of the consumer market.
Unfortunately, eham.net doesn't have any reviews of the new Honeywell units. They have most all the features of the Davis units, including automatic
web page updating, for a few hundred dollars less. I am looking hard at the Honeywell TE923W.
I realize that a ham radio site is not a weather nut site but hams are pretty discerning when it comes to electronics.
But no Mac interface with the Honeywell units.

Here's a Davis that's almost $200 cheaper than mine and appears to have all the gadgets anyone would like. http://www.weathershack.com/davis-instruments/davis-vantage-... ~Including Mac compatable

There went your 200 dollar savings.
Looks like the Honeywells are chit.........and not actually made by Honeywell. What a surprise. I found some reviews on Amazon.
