Land Swindle in Colonet

Today's edition of Tijuana's La Frontera newspaper has a headline story of a million dollar swindle in Punta Colonet. False land ownership documents were used to sell large parcels. The money was moved to San Diego and then Guatemala. Interpol agents arrested the culprits.

Defendant: Francisco Jimenez Cuenca from Spain.

http://www.prensalibre.com/pl/2009/julio/07/326443.html

Jiménez illegally sold 200 hectáreas at Punta Colonet for One Million Dollars USA to someone from Mexicali on January 30, 2007. Jiménez was captured as he exited his residence on a road at km 18.5 in (Guatemala or El Salvador?) and was extradited to Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
