How to get my truck up from Cabo to LA asap?
hi
My problem is that my ford truck is down in San Jose del Cabo where I live part of the time, and I need it up here in Los Angeles because I just had
an accident in my car here.
Can anyone recommend either a reliable shipping service (not too $$$$) or know of a very reliable person who would want to make the drive?
Thanks

yikes ! Never thought of that!
Nah we drive up and down a few times a year but this time are a bit stuck. Plenty of people in San Jose can vouch for us, don't forget we want to come
back in Oct!

ha ha.
Just u2u ed Denis (I think) bit new to this.
I kind of remeber a big truck advertised in the gringo gazette that goes up and down every week.
Does anyone know of this?
Thanks.
We may have to come down and get it ourselves, but in addition to expense (and discomfort after car wreck here) the weather looks terrible.

Milligan,
A post in Baja Western Onion from a person offering this service:
Baja Vehicle Delivery - U.S-Baja/Baja-U.S. I drive your vehicle door to door. Experienced vehicle transporter. References available. - Mark Sherman,
612 143 3316
I have never used his service.

Milligan,
Welcome to the BajaNomad!
There is a guy who advertises in the Chubasco, a publication put out by Vagabundos (Vagabundos Del Mar). His name is Al Thompson. I don't
have a copy of the magazine in front of me, but here is the info for Vagabundos: www.vagabundos.com or info@vagabundos.com (email). Phones: 707-374-5511, or 800-474-2252. They are located in Rio vista (Sacramento), CA. Call
them Monday morning and I'm sure they can give you Al's number.
Good luck! Let us know what you do and how it turned out.

I've been emailing a guy recently about bringing our extra truck south for us. He may deliver north also. I don't know anything about him, but he
advertises in the Baja Western Union. Price seemed reasonable.
Here's the email: bajavehicledelivery@yahoo.com

FYI, I used Mark Sherman to deliver a Pathfinder last December. Had a great experience. He was fair and kept all the reciepts etc. Needless to say, it
is a little nerve racking handing over a vehicle to somebody you do not know. Good luck.

references, homework, choice...
I have done several deliveries for fellow Nomads, as Woody and Dennis noted above. Mostly just to mix a little bit of "I still love the solitude and
beauty of the Baja drive" with a little bit of "I can offer a little help".
I U2U'd back to Milligan. I am not available to do a delivery right away... (likely Thanksgiving will be my next opportunity) but I would suggest to
anyone to ask for a few references ~ best if you can get a referral from someone who's used the delivery / driver previously. I've always offerred
that and it helps ease the worry.
Do a few emails or calls, ask good questions, make a careful choice, and then trust your decision and the person you choose.
Its all just stuff and some numbers.
