Policia ???
Some recent events caused our security people to call the local police to come check out a break-in, they were informed that they did not have gas to
come. Has anyone ever encountered this before? We are less than 2 miles from their station.

I thought they got beyond that nonsense. The state police wouldn't investigate a crime unless you paid for their gas to get there but, that was a
long time ago.
What they're saying to you is, you don't matter to them and they don't have to be a traffic cop to practice the fine art of extortion.
Go bang on Mayor Torres' door and tell him your problem.
Come to think of it, I'm thinking you went to the city police. Take it to the state police. They would end up investigating it anyway.

The cops are scarred shirtless to come to a strange call. They have been getting ambushed. You are on your own.

We certainly aren't strangers to them when they come asking for donations for their events...

And if they did come, what would you expect them to do?
Plus Arrowhead has a point.
Go to the cop shop, explain what happened and make another donation.

Next time they panhandle you, tell'em it's for future gas.
You live in Rosarito, Correct? Unbelievable. That place is going back in time.

It's the wild wild west. Undecipherable laws and nobody to explain them. And, they want a robust tourism industry.
I think I'm beginning to see the end.

I hear that loud and clear. Every year around Christmas you can count on the local police looking for "donations". And they are damn good at keeping
track of who has paid up and who hasn't. And don't think you can avoid them. They'll keep on stoppin by until they catch you at home to put the
squeeze on ya!

My friend in San Juanico, ocasionally slips the local cops a twenty for gas, so they keep an eye on his place and sometimes pick up his trash.

Anyone who ever spent time in Mexico City can tell you that the police there keep their flashing lights on all the time. Cynics say that's to alert
the bad guys to stop doing bad things before they get there.
