I stayed at Casa Leree recently. Paula's stayed there before. I really liked it. Wonderful gardens; great place to hang out outside. The owner is also the local historian, and Casa Leree has a fine gift shop/museum with a fine collection of historical photographs of San Ignacio. I highly recommend it.

Actually, you need to follow the Google results further to find their actual "public" site:
http://www.casaleree.com

It appears their web developer's site gets it ranked higher than the actual site for the public. Wonder how they got that test site indexed in Google in the first place?

Interesting... both links go to the same page.. Doug's is shorter and the direct connect! I think I got mine from a post here some time ago?

I suppose it could be another whole thread, but there is a certain amount of personal preference that goes beyond things like price, quality and value. A couple of places mentioned here, and there are others around Baja, have extremely limited number of rooms and could be classified as B&B. My personal preference is to stay somewhere that reflects pride of ownership, but does not have a hovering owner. A modicum of anonymity works for me.

Looks like another endorsement for Casa Leree. Great prices and fantastic accomodations in the middle of everything.
My endorsement also:bounce:

Casa Leree is probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. It isn't the fanciest, but it is the most pleasant, relaxing hotel ever. And it is the perfect place from which to experience San Ignacio.

But if you are looking for a quick one night stay, be careful. You could find yourself unwilling to depart in the morning, stay an extra day or two, and find that you've put your whole trip plan out of kilter:yes::D
