Two questions - Doors and Water Filtration

Have a one year old house. 2nd row back from beach. Wood doors on the back are already trashed. Would metal or vinyl doors be better?

We have well water. Going straight from the well then into the tanks and into the water lines then into the house. High mineral content and some salt. Is there a good whole house filtration system that can handle sediment, minerals and salt?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah...Vinyl is good. Also, you could use solid core wood doors and lots of good paint to keep them away from the weather.

Your problem water....look into a swimming pool filter. I think you can clean those and it sounds as though you'll be doing that often.
Those small filter units will put you in the poor house.

Regarding problem water- Salt is harder to remove. If you actually have salt, a simple filter will not remove it. Removing salt requires a Reverse Osmosis filter.

Try these guys for the whole house water system.....

To remove salt, an RO system is a must. Depends on how much salt there is, but it can make "bottled water" quality water out of just about anything.

I second fiberglass. I've seen fiberglass doors that have fake woodgrain. With a good stain job it's hard to tell it's not wood.

As for water filtration, we have one of these:
Water Fixer

But like someone above said, It probably won't get rid of salt. Otherwise it does a good job of purifying.
