Just received reliable information that...
This story is inaccurate.
The individual's name, location of the crime and circumstances are wrong.
The person, who I know personally, was attacked while sleeping in his trailer at gunpoint. The robbers stuffed a rag down his throat, robbed him of
$450 and then demanded the keys to his car. At this point, he physically resisted by hitting one of his assailants, understand it was a mean right
hook to the jaw, and yelling for help. The robbers ran.
Here's the kicker:
He's 80!!!
OUTSTANDING

Happened at Cielito Lindo
right across the street from my house there. The man they robbed has been a friend of ours for almost 30 years. He is not sure if it was a gun they
were pointing at him ,it was dark, thank god if it was they chose not to use it on him. and he said thank god it wasn't a knife because they were
pushing it in his stomach. At one point during the robbery he said he realized that they were going to hurt him and he knew he needed to do
something to try and save himself. He did get in a couple of good punches and made them run away. It was a very sleepless night after that. He is
still a little shook up needless to say. We are very happy he is alive and well and able to tell his story,k

I ain't gonna say. I can't see any benefit in it. It's not a campground so unless you lived there you wouldn't need to know...and all who live there
already know.
I failed to mention that a car was stolen from one of the south beach camping spots the same night. That beach has never been safe. IMO, no one should
camp there.

Is that behind Cielito Lindo?

I know the area a little. That's a shame. There are lots of retire types there.
Maybe considered "soft targets" by the local bandits. No doubt that area has become more dangerous.

most of the Chilitos in that area are already neutered, so expound unto the victim what huge huevos he has! this will be the story of his life, unless
he stormed the beaches of Normandy!
i'd love to buy that MAN a drink!

It seems obvious that banditos are watching the beach for people to camp. Probably the campfire gives them away.
But now "home invasion" type robberies.
Across the bay in my neiborhood there have been lots of breakins when people are away.
One of my neighbors finally had to put bars and a security shutter on his house.
Word in the neighborhood was that Orendains house near Cielito Lindo and La Pinta got broken into also.
It's a big compound with a caretaker but the caretaker went to town on an errand. The banditos knew when to break in.
Sorry to hear about the old timer. Hope he's okay.
