OOOOO! BUFFALO prime rib!-

Sorry, I lost the camera adapter thingy to post pics, so all I can say is--- we had not-the-best beef prime rib. It cooked up great, but had a big vein of gristle. AW WELL... the camarones last night were good ~

Good thing the outlaws....OOPS! I MEAN IN-laws weren't here looking to be impressed:lol:

fried my 1st turkey with the fryer i got 5 years ago.
no pics.
now i have to clean up 2 gals of used oil.
and its like 38 out this morning.
next time i want to fry a whole bone in pork loin. i think there is potential there.
neat thing about deep fried turkey is it takes just 30 minutes.
but forever to get the oil hot. then chasing the needle getting it to stay the right temp.

Thank you to those of you who participated. It looks like everyone ate well. Thanks again!

PS: Shari, nice group of people you got there!

PSS: I should have put this out way before Christmas so you could have photographed the food as it was cooking.

Oh well, lesson learned.

Are you ready for this?

BBQ/Smoked Turkey with Bacon strips, on the Weber- the juices drop into the pan for great gravey fix'ns and ooze into the turkey stuffing... fantastic!

Dern cooked a prime rib. Cody worked for two days to provide the dessert.

things differently next time:
back off to 3 min per lb instead 3.5
keep heat uniform at 325 as much as possible - avoid over 350
season it more thoroughly
inject it 1st

but yeah - tender and juicy - the skin is great crispy!

i am looking forward to doing a duck and a goose. also a pork loin boner in.
get one they are on sale all over.

Capt Mike, great recommendations on the turkey fryer. Had a fried turkey once at a friends house and it was very good. I think they fried it up on peanut oil, if I remember correctly.

I still prefer my smoked turkey on the Weber kettle grill. The
gravy and stuffing are to die for and the turkey is very juicy.

Standing around the grill at the end eating the bacon appetizer is to die for!

Martin, I've been smoking turkey's on a Weber grill since the mid 70's. I didn't think of the bacon idea until about 10 years ago. When I pull this off, and we have friends over, the look on their face is unforgettable. Then, they all steal the idea!
