Wave Addict

My name is Shari and I'm an addict.

I just cannot stop inhaling that fresh ocean oxygen coming off those big waves....the feel of the fine mist on my face is intoxicating...the beauty of those rollers offshore....coming closer...building....building...and oh oh oh....cresting....that first white icing appears then toppling frosty white water curls into a tube.....then I hold my breath as it approaches the rocks...awaiting that final explosion....then I exhale as the sizzling foam bubbles around the shore. I take a few breaths to regulate my heartbeat and raise my eyes to the horizon once more searching for that next big set.

Just one more set...one more wave....till the day is done.

Awesome photos and poetry! Poetry does not need to rhyme to be good or effective. Your prose brings home the mood just perfectly. Wish I was there....

Who says only the surfers know how to shoot waves?

Nice ones, Shari.

I'm fond of the first one as it's also a great composition.

An almost erotic description.

Wow! I know we've had huge waves here in San Diego and I didn't even think about down your way.

Fantastic photos of those crashing waves. It must have been great to feel, smell and hear those beautiful waves crashing over the rocks next to your house. Again, Wow.

PS: Sheri, it's been quite a long time since I gave a double Wow to something.:bounce:

thanks amigos....Ken...the last one is my favorite too...I took it between Asuncion and San roque while Juan was getting mussels...it's pretty protected in that bay from the NNW swell but the little waves were just so.....sexy.

Well Juanita and I see that you are putting that new camera to good use. These are spectacular pics. Keep them coming and practice practice is always good.
