Need road conditions Maneadero to La Bufadora ?

3rd day in KOA RV park in Chula Vista. Today should be worst of storm. Really wondering about severity of Hwy 1 to our home in La Bufadora. Last night was very windy with rain. One RV had large tree fall on top at 6:30am. No injurys but rig is toast.

Was planning at crossing at Tecate but after reading some post may wait a day and cross at SY.

Heck if this keeps going, you may not be able to get to La Buff. I have seen it get impassible for days at a time out there!

road conditions

You might want to wait until Saturday when people in Punta Banda get electricity and things calm down. We are traveling with GC and he has a weather station. His wife is giving grim reports of the road but more will come in as it lightens up tomorrow and Saturday morning. Are you on the Punta Banda Bulletin Board yet?? Once they get electricity, you will be able to see everything going on. There are many people in La Buf who will answer a post from you.

The road from Maneadero is blocked near India Bonita. The runoff dumped tons of dirt on that little bridge, and it is closed.

Trying to head home from San Quintin and as we all know 1D is impassable at this time. Any alternate routes that are known and safe to travel? :(

From another board:

Bill Lawrence at Rancho Santa Marta in San Vincente reported Hwy 1 opened at the San Vincente bridge. Officials made a make shift dirt road through the wash, diverting water. He said there is no word on roads conditions to the south.

Bronco,

Dern drove down last Saturday. Crossed in San Ysidro. He's there now. The road is open.
