A couple years back my mother gave me one of those for doing potatoes. They are a quick & easy way to heat the potato completely through. The texture is different than that of a baked potato, the taste not really as good imho. Works in a pinch, though, and some folks really don't seem to notice much difference in taste.

Note: Do NOT poke holes in your baked potato if you heat it this way. All the juice will run out of the holes. Just put up to 2 potatoes in the bag and nuke for about 5 min. It won't explode - honest.

Hi Nena..............I put the spuds in a sandwich bag. Holds the moisture. Poke fork holes in the potato as well. Just a thought.

Miss your virtual Margarita parties here. Lots of things and folks have gone. Kinda sad.

Nuking potatoes in a plastic bag.... oh Dennis, that just goes against all my Berkeley 'green' learning. Best to pay for a cloth bag which will do the same thing.;D

Virtual margarita parties set to begin if ever the rain ends... bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the agenda for all oldsters who come out of hiding for the event.

Lizard Lips - can't believe you said that.

I think the plastic bag holds in the heat and moisture which accelerates the cooking process. I'll wrap one in a towel and do a test.
