Feb 3, 4 La Paz-Tecate Trip Report

Left La Paz Wed., Feb 3 and drove through rain to Guerrero Negro and stayed at Don Gus. Left GN Thursday and had no problem with broken bridges as bypasses were constructed. Never had to drive in water as the detours were packed dirt. Never had to wait. No rain on Thursday. Easy trip, no problems with fllooded arroyos, rivers, or banditos. Road to Tecate under construction, but minimal slowing. 15 minute wait at Tecate. Pretty much the same as other trips. Heavy rain could cause rivers to flow again over bypasses.

Mood: anxious to get to Baja

Crossing Tecate tomorrow (Thurs) 2/11

We are planning to cross at Tecate tomorrow (Thurs) heading south. We have not seen any recent postings with regard to roads since the 3rd of Feb so we are ASSUMING everything is groovy road and travel wise. It rained in San Diego yesterday late in the afternoon and part of the evening but not hard...we saw that it rained in Tecate and Ensenada. Anybody out there have any up to date travel reports, please email us directly (not U2U) at ljalta@yahoo.com. Thanks so much.
