Inspection slow downs at Mexicali

Has anyone noticed any slowdown in the passing or inspection of vehicles at Mexicali entering Mexico? ....ie has the thought or rumor of passports and import restrictions caused the lines to get long?

Planning to cross there in a week or so.
Thanks for input

Long lines into Mexicali.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon a couple of weeks ago around 5 p.m. and the traffic was backed up to the American crossing!

I hope those damn gates get destroyed soon!

This past Friday, we crossed at about 8:30 a.m and only two cars in front of us. Asked for paperwork for the 4Runner we were trailering and the dogs paperwork, had both, pass!
