Canadian new born need a passport to visit?
Hello all.
Friends from Canada would like to take a trip to La Paz for a little R&R, and are wondering what type of travel documents may be needed for a new
born to travel to BCS? Passport or other paperwork? Thanks, Eh!?

Birth certificate ought to do, but they would best to call or visit the Mexican consulate for the correct answer.

Hi sol, we got a passport for my daughter when she was 2 months old for a trip to Scottland. The wait time for Passports is down drastically in
Canada so it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks.
Let your friends know there is a check box to fill out with their expected travel date and they should definitely fill it out so the application can
be fast tracked. Also any holder of a valid passport can now act as guarantor so you don't have to track down a doctor, lawyer of professional
engineer to guaranty you are you. That used to be a huge PITA.
I my daughter's case the only trick was to how to hold her up while staying out of the photo at the passport photo office!
Passports for infants expire in a couple of years cause they change so much but I don't think its a huge deal to get one and its an excellent travel
document to have.

bajasol doesn't mention their mode of travel. If entering Mexico by land, based upon many recent posts here, you will not need a passport. When
returning, a birth certificate should suffice for the infant. If you are flying, you will need a passport.

I would definitely get one. If nothing else, you will have a photo identification of the child, which is good anytime you travel. A birth certificate
would probably suffice, but I was always nervous traveling when that was our only id (even within the US).
