Fishing Asuncion

We had planned this trip last October but our support crew and truck bailed out on us so we did not make it. Will be in Asuncion the first part of April if all goes well. The plan is to ride Honda 650s from San Felipe.. Would like to fish and were wondering what kind of fishing we could expect in April? Since we will be on bikes what kind on hotel options are available? Thanks!! :?::?::?:

monoloco got it right...april is not a great month in these parts...

sea temps are down then so probably no yellowtail but the calico bass fishing is great ....it's windy in the afternoons alot.

Thanks for the advice. Fishing may be questionable.. Any leads on local accommodations would be greatly appreciated

There is also the option of the Hotel Verduzco in town. It is a very basic Baja hotel, the type that some love and others do not like at all. Two couples from the US and San Felipe stayed there last week and were very happy.

They are adding on and buiding a new restaurant. Great family owns and runs the hotel----

Just another option

quickie fishing report....yellowtail still going on! The pilots had a great day and juan is out again today...the weather is awesome today...yesterday it got soooo hot in the afternoon...we had to go swimming....but I'm sad to report the water was bloody cold..even for ME!

Friends of ours from Whistler (olympic fame) are here...most locals there subleased their apartments for the games and came to baja!! They tried spearfishing yesterday for the first time and are so turned on...yummy fish BBQ and jam session last night.

Clear sunny day today but will probably get windy later on...looks like wind tomorrow then perfect fishing day on friday for our nomad amigos visiting...possible rain on sat. or sunday....the carpet of green everywhere is growing.

Had a nice couple of days in Ascuncion last week. Rode the quads up from Punta Abreojos while a neighbor drove his truck. Explored the desert ranches, hunted fossils, and yes some fishing. Stayed at Hotel Verduzco in the center of town.
