planning a drive Bay LA - San Francisquito
Hi,
Want to drive my 4 wheel camper top and Tundra down the 1, over to Bay of LA, then south to San Francisquito, El Arco, then down to Loreto. Anybody
take that road recently? Any old hurricane damage?

Last year it was a blast. Will be on it in a week or so, but nothing to report-post hurricane/rains. Sorry.

Glen, if interested I have the GPS of the route using the short cut that goes nearer Mision Santa Gertrudis (an excellent side trip) and through
Guillermo Prieto to Hwy. 1 just north of Vizcaino. It's in my GPS web page on VivaBaja.com
It is/ was a good, graded road and short cuts to Hwy. 1 if you are southbound.

Sounds like a good option, unless we need to get to El Arco for gas (if they have it!). My Tundra only gets 10 mpg with the fully loaded camper (and
dog!)

Woody,
I can tow my 24' trailer fully loaded and stuff the truck including a 14' boat on the roof and still get 14 mpg in my F350 !!!
Just think of all the STUFF you could haul !!

When we pulled a small fiberglass trailer, and when we had our Outfitter camper, we got the same mileage with our Tundra.
Gosh, maybe it was the dogs.

Gas up at L.A. Bay and the next gas will be at Vizcaino, guessing 150 miles south... maybe gas at San Francisquito... I doubt it at El Arco, but who
knows?? Maybe buy some in an emergency? I would rather bring a 5 gallon can or two along, than chance running out. If your truck has at least a 20
gallon tank... that gives you a 200 mile range at 10 mpg.
