from BBP - a friend visits BA

"We spent Fri and Sat night at the Serenidad and decided to fly over to Bahia Asuncion and have lunch. I had contacted Shari and she met us at the airport, along with the local police.

The runway is in excellent shape and can handle about anything that lands on dirt. The police took some information from me and asked when we would be leaving. I gave them an estimated time and off we went for a tour of the town and Shari's places. Had a wonderful lunch for 3 including a take out of menudo and the bill was $180 pesos = $14.50 USD

She has nice clean places at a very reasonable rate. I believe her rate for panga fishing is $175 and there appears to be excellent fishing all the time. As was said previously, this is Baja from another era, if you want to kick back, catch fish, and enjoy something a little different, this should be on your list. If having a handler and Cabo services appeal to you, keep flying south, this is not for you.

We will be stopping here on occasion on our migrations both north and south. Shari and Juan could not have been more helpful"

i hope to be there for a day trip exploratory excursion during my planned trio to Mulege April 8-11.
way to go Shari!
you owe me a beer since i promoted that he come see you.

It was fun meeting yet another nomad and chewin the fat about our friends in common and showing them around the village. It was one of those chamber of commerce days....hot, calm and delicious lunch at Juanitas...Ms. copilot(who is also a pilot) actually ordered Menudo....gotta love a woman who eats menudo...Sr.Pilot had fresh yellowtail al mojo de ajo (yellowtail our fishermen caught the day before!!)
