http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/03/kidnapped-wom...
By Sandra Dibble
April 3, 2010
ROSARITO BEACH — The Baja California Attorney General’s Office is investigating the kidnapping earlier this week of an 18-year-old U.S. citizen
released by her captors early Saturday, a spokesman said. The woman is a Rosarito Beach resident whose family owns a business in the area, friends
said.
The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she was treated for an injury to her neck, the spokesman said.
The investigation was ongoing, and no other details were available.
The FBI, which typically becomes involved in such cases, did not respond to a request for information. A spokesman for the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana
was not available Saturday.

Rosarito just couldn't catch a break this Easter week. The release of this kidnapped girl, the rain and the earthquake. No locusts or plague?

I'm sure the girl and her family felt like it was a pretty damn good week.

Three arrested in Rosarito Beach kidnapping, killing
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/15/three-arreste...
By Sandra Dibble

TIJUANA — The kidnapping of an 18-year-old U.S. citizen last month in Rosarito Beach and the killing of her Mexican boyfriend has led to the arrest of
three friends of the victims, state authorities said Thursday.
The woman’s family owns a small business in Rosarito Beach and is civically active in the community.
Jose Leonardo Vela Robles, 25, was killed March 30, the same day he was kidnappped with his girlfriend, said Fermin Gomez, Baja California’s deputy
attorney general for organized crime.
The woman, who is seven months pregnant, was held for three days and left for dead in a Rosarito Beach neighborhood on April 3 after her abductors
tried repeatedly to slit her throat, Gomez said. The abductors had demanded $300,000 from her family to release her, but were never paid, Gomez said.
Gomez said that two of the suspected assailants had gone to the victims’ residence and asked for a ride to Tijuana. Once there, the couple was
separated.
An investigation by Baja California’s anti-kidnapping squad led agents to detain Baltazar Ochoa Pineda, 29, a U.S. citizen who allegedly confessed to
Vela’s slaying. Ochoa told investigators that he killed Vela because Vela had failed to pay back a $400 drug debt.
The other two suspects were identified as Brittany Louise Eisher, 22, a U.S. citizen, and Luz Rosenda Palma Aguilar, 28, of Veracruz. Two other
suspects are at large.

Think so. No word on the baby. The first Dibble story a few weeks back just said she was recovered, but no details or the physical state she was in.
Now that Easter break is over they can release the gory details. The boyfriend was killed for a $400 drug debt? Geesh.

So, two of the suspects are US citizens and one is from Vera Cruz. One victim a US citizen and the other of unknown Mexican origin. Sorta looks like a
minor league cartel thing.

The Mexican version is more detailed. FBI was involved. Def drug connected, but not on a cartel level- just local trouble-makers (the tattooed
gorilla from LA looks like he was deported back). The boy owed $400 for drugs which was the initial reason it happened. The girl victim had recently
befriended the other girls who found out the family had money and a popular business in Rosarito. The family didn't pay the ransom because they were
working with professional negotiators through the PGJE. They killed the boy the first day- they kept the girl for three days. You'd think they would
just break your legs or something for $400- not actually kill two people. Luckily the girl had a tough throat to cut through- the Mexican version
said it was an attempted beheading. I'll bet this family is messed-up in the head for life over this.
