Ejido Matomi land sales dispute

Interesting report in Crisol de San Felipe of alleged fraud at Ejido Matomi. The name Carlos Slim Domit was mentioned in the report. The eldest son of Carlos Slim Helú has the same name.

Same name because its the same person. Buying for dad and have been for a long time. 50,000 hectares is over 100,000 acres and will give Carlos Slim the largest resort development in Mexico by far.

And to think Carlos Slim buying all the land south of San Felipe is just rumor

That's not a sure bet. Although, I suppose one could ask to define what one's definition of a resort is. I mention it because of the comparison that can be made between Rocky Point and San Felipe. Not too long ago, they were virtual mirror images of each other, located relatively close to the border and nestled on the upper reaches of the Sea of Cortez. In the last decade or so, Puerto Penasco has seen amazing development that includes mid-rise condos and even a Mayan Palace resort, as well as a new airport that can accomodate jets. San Felipe, even with the gringo oriented and mostly gated developments, was way more low key. So, I just have to wonder what Slim envisions, given that the entire San Felipe area has really never attracted the hi-brow, big bucks types.

Actually its 123, 552. Right now since Liberty Cove has gone by the wayside El Dorado Ranch is still the largest at 35,000 acres. So this is 3 times+ that.

I would imagine he sees Casinos. Betcha we see a Vegas Style city built in Baja.
